Planning & Zoning Commission Members

The Planning & Zoning Commission is composed of five (5) members.

The Planning & Zoning Commission has the power and is required to:

(A).  Be responsible and act as an advisory body to the City Commission.

(B).  Make, amend, extend, and all to a master plan for the physical development of the City.

(C).  Recommend to the City Council approval or disapproval of proposed changes in the Zoning Plan.

(D).  Review all plans for platting or sub-dividing of land within the City and within adjacent areas are permitted by law and submit findings and recommendations to the City Council.

(E).  Require information from other departments of the City government in relation to its work.

(F).  Perform such duties and be vested with such other powers as the City Council may prescribe in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.

(G).  Divide the City in Zoning of Districts, and to regulate the location, size, height, bulk, and use of buildings within such Zones or Districts, and to establish building lines within such Zones or Districts or otherwise, and make different regulations for different Districts and thereafter alter the same.

(H).  The City Council of the City of Donna shall serve as a Board of Appeals or Review for the purpose of hearing and deciding on appeals from, and reviewing any order, requirement, decision or determination of the said City Planning Commission.
